My experience: Today Show for One Direction

Ok, so I am a huge fan of One Direction. If you don't know who they are, this is the most famous boy band at the moment made of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, and Liam Payne. I know many people have different opinions on One Direction but I personally love them.

So I had the honor of going to a One Direction concert ft. Five Seconds of Summer concert on June 29, 2013 at Jones Beach Theatre. But on August 23, 2013 my best friend and I saw One Direction again but at the TODAY show. We went to Rockefeller Center at 3 in the morning. We were literally living off of three hours of sleep. So we waited for about an hour with 8,000 people. Around 4:30 we got into the outer streets of Rockefeller. We waited…and waited…and waited. Around 7:00 One direction came out and did a sped up version of What Makes You Beautiful and Kiss You. Sadly, I could not see them and their microphones weren't working very well.

Around 7:30 my friend got claustrophobic and had to stand outside of the barricades. After a very rude mother yelled at us saying, "If you guys leave this barrier you will be kicked out." My friend and I just ignored her because she was very rude and thought she knew everything. My friend and I did not get kicked but in fact we made it to a point where we could see One Direction clearly and were only 150 people away from them. There were 18,000 people in and around Rockefeller Center that day. To get as close as we did, my friend and I had to sneak past guards and hop a few barriers. It was hard and people kept coming up to us and asking how many hours we have been there. We even met people who were camping out there for 6 days!

I do not regret staying there since three in the morning. My friends and I are actually planning for next time One Direction comes and we might camp out again. It is honestly a lot of fun but you get pushed a lot, and you have to push people a lot to get through. If you are willing to stay outside for hours then it is really worth it.

Later That Day

Later on my friend, my mother, and I went to Madame Tussauds in Times Square. My friend and I wanted to see the One Direction was figures because basically that day was all about them. My mother enjoyed seeing wax figures of her favorite celebrities. That was the second time that summer I went to Madame Tussauds so I had photos will a lot of the figures already. If you ever in New York, you should really go to the Wax Museum.

Question of the Week: What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
