Snow Days are the Best Days

Hey everyone! There was a huge snow storm in New York today and yesterday. I was let out of school at 11:30am so I could commute home, yesterday. It snowed nine inches where I am, but in other parts of New York it snowed 28 inches. I had a snowday (no school) today so here are some pictures I took:

My friend and I went to the park and took some pictures.

Selfies, Selfies, and more Selfies.

I stopped to take this lovely picture after going for an hour walk. I am not one to play in the snow so I took advantage of the snow to take pictures.

Question: What do you do when you have off from school? Do you have snow days?

Five Favorites Friday-TV SHOWS

Hey everyone! Today is another Five Favorites Friday post (but I am usually too busy to post it then). You can check out my first two weeks of this series here:

Five Favorites Friday-Movies

Five Favorites Friday- Music

This week I am going to talk about television shows. I have been absolutely obsessed with some shows. At the bottom of the post will be linked the bloggers who did the Five Favorites Post this week. Email me if you want to be part of the series at thisfashiongirl1@gmail.com.

1. American Horror Story

American Horror Story is a television show that is on FX on Wednesdays at 10pm. The season 4 finale is this week. The show has four seasons that are totally different from one another because they have the same cast but in different plots. The seasons are called (in order) Murder House, Asylum, Coven, and Freakshow. The show is only 12-13 episodes a season. This was my first year watching American Horror Story and I watched the first three seasons within 2 weeks and I was absolutely hooked on it. The main cast is Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Taissa Farmiga, and Lily Rabe. The show has many guest stars such as Neil Patrick Harris and so many other talented actors. The show is not as scary as everyone thinks it is, it's more disturbing if anything. There is some gore but the show is so good and I recommend it.

2. Pretty Little Liars

I have watched this show since I was 11 (it started in 2010) and I still love this show. Pretty Little Liars is in its sixth season now and just get crazier. The style and fashion on show matches all the characters personalities and are perfect. The main characters are Aria (Lucy Hale), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell), and Spencer (Troian Bellisario). They deal with the death of their friend Alison (Sasha Pieterse) but the show's plot is always changing and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I recommend if you are going to start the show, start from the beginning so you don't get too confused. Pretty Little Liars is on ABC Family.

3. Skins UK

If the name of the show sounds familiar that is because America tried recreating this show on MTV. The American version lasted one season and was just a bad knock off version. Skins UK is seven seasons and originally aired on televisions in United Kingdom. Each two seasons was a different cast and it's about growing up in England from teenagers point of view. My English teacher who is from London told me that the show is a bit exaggerated but I still like the show. Three of the most famous actors from this show is Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies & X Men), Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner), and Kathryn Prescott (Finding Carter). The show has a lot of cursing and some content that is not for younger viewers but all together is a good show.

4. Modern Family

Modern Family is a comedy that is really popular here. This show changes the way of thinking in television because the "modern family" in this show is a married couple with three children. But the wife 's (Claire) father is remarried to a Colombian woman (Sofia Vergara) who is 20 years younger than him and has a son. Claire's brother is married to a man and has an adopted child. This show is accepting to many people and is such a funny show. I watch it every week with my parents because adults and children find it funny.

5. Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl was a famous show on CW that was on from 2007-2012. The cast included Blake Lively, Ed Westwick, Chase Crawford, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, and Taylor Momsen.  This show was filmed in Upper East Side of Manhattan ais about the life of teenagers in New York. I finished all six seasons last year and I definitely recommend it. The show is filled with style and scandal and the cast is just amazing.

Five Favorites Friday- MUSIC

Hey everyone! If you were here last week, you have seen that I started a new series. This series is five of my favorite things that I write about on Friday. I have asked a few bloggers to write about their favorite things too, and each week I will link them at he bottom of the post. This week I am going to share five of my favorite musicians/artists.

1. The Neighborhood ( the NBHD)

The Neighborhood has been one of my favorite bands since 2013. It is made up of Jesse Rutherford, Jeremy Freedman, Zach Abels, Mikey Margott, and Brandon Fried. They are seen as American rock band. I personally like their music because it ranges from jazz to rock, and has rap in a few of their songs. The most famous song that made it to the radio stations by them was called, "Sweater Weather". Two of their albums/EPs are called I Love You, and the newest one is called #000000 & #FFFFFF (Black and White).  My favorite songs from them are Afraid, Staying Up, I Can't Even, and Jealousy.

2. The 1975

I looked up how someone would describe the 1975 they said, "English indie rock band from Manchester". I stared listening to the 1975 last year and I fell absolutely in love with their music. The members of the band are Matty Healy, Ross MacDonald,  Adam Hann, and George Daniel. There audience is probably 14 and up because their music has such a distinct sound that some people aren't in to it. My favorite songs by them are Heart Out, Sex, Talk!, and M.O.N.E.Y.

3. Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey is a stage name for Elizabeth Woolridge Grant. She is 29 years old and released her first album when she was 18. Her famous songs are Summertime Sadness, Young and Beautiful, Once Upon a Dream, and Born to Die. I love her voice because its lower and her lyrics have meaning behind them. My favorite songs from her are Ultraviolence, Summertime Sadness, Serial Killer, West Coast, and Dark Paradise.

4. 5 Seconds of Summer

5 Seconds of Summer is a band from Sydney, Australia. It started off with the lead singer posting videos of himself on Youtube and then it became more. The members of the band are Ashton Irwin, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Luke Hemmings. They performed as the opening act of One Directions' Take Me Home and Where We Are tours. Their most famous songs are She Looks So Perfect, and Heartbreak Girl. My favorite songs by them are Just Saying, Daylight, Try Hard, and End Up Here.

5. Miley Cyrus

Who doesn't know who Miley Cyrus is? I have been a big fan of Miley Cyrus since 2006 because I grew up to her on Hannah Montana. In 2014, I got to see her live and it was of the most fun times I have had at a concert. Even though some of the things that she does are questionable, I love the way she acts now because its who she wanted to be all along. I also think that her and Patrick Schwarzenegger are the cutest couple. My favorite songs by her are 23, and Drive.

Five Favorites Friday- MOVIES

Hey everyone! I really want to start a series called Five Favorites Friday. This means each Friday I would post five of my favorite things (movies, television shows, restaurants, places, etc) for the next few weeks.. But there is a twist to this, I am inviting fellow bloggers to this each week. I will attach a list of their latest Five Favorites Friday. So, if you want to be part of this comment on the post, or tweet me and I will definitely add you to the list.

This week I am going to talk about 5 of my favorite movies.

1.  The Bling Ring

The Bling Ring came out in 2013 and I only recently watched it. I really liked the movie even though some critics said it was bad. Emma Watson and Taissa Farmiga, two of my favorite actresses, are in it. The movie is a recreation and an exaggeration of the 2009 Hollywood Hills burglaries. That was when 5-7 teenagers robbed celebrity houses such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Miranda Kerr, and over 50 other houses. The movie shows the stereotypical LA girl but also includes a lot of fashion and style which I loved.

2. Wild Child

Wild Child came out in 2008. It is a super cute Emma Roberts movie. It also features one of my celebrity crushes, Alex Pettyfer. This movie follows a girl (Emma Roberts) who gets sent to an all-girls boarding school in England. There is a bit of romance in the movie, but all together it is one of my favorites. I never get sick of it.

3. Clueless

This movie is from 1995 and I just can't explain it. Once you see Clueless, it will definitely be your new favorite movie. The one liners in the movie are just perfect. It takes place in California with the main character, Cher, but the ending of the movie is not what you expect.

4. Catching Fire

I am a huge Hunger Games fan. I read the books Summer of 2011 and I was completely obsessed. I would talk to anyone who would listen about how much I loved THG series. Catching Fire is the second book/movie in the series. I feel this was the best book and the best movie that came out so far. Mockingjay Part 1 was excellent but I liked Catching Fire so much better.

5. If I Stay

If I Stay came out a few months ago in the movie theater. It is about Mia, a teenage cellist, who gets into a car crash with her family. She has this out of body experience where she can see everything that goes on around her while she is in a coma. The movie is really movie and keeps you at the edge of your seat the whole time. I don't know if this is going to offend people, but I liked the movie way better than the Fault in Our Stars. Don't get me wrong TFIOS was good but If I Stay didn't get as much media attention on it and was equally as good.

This was the first of my Five Favorites Friday. Comment what some of your favorite movies are. Do we have some of the same?
