My School Morning Routine- Fall 2016

Hey everyone! I feel so bad that it's been more than a week since my last update. This is a collaboration the wonderful bloggers Guilianna, Eve , and Róisín on our school morning routines. I owe an apology to these girls because I should have posted this approximately 12 days ago. School has been pretty busy with me and honestly I need to budget some blog time in. I tried to take pictures, but I always messed up every time so I hope just a written explanation of my morning routine suffices.

5:30am - My alarm goes off, but I have mastered the art of putting my alarm on snooze for 15 minutes.

5:50am - I change into my uniform and find sports attire for field hockey.

6:00am - I'll eat something small such as half a bagel, a small bowl of cereal, a piece of fruit, or a breakfast shake because about two hours later I get hungry.

6:15am- I run back upstairs to put my bracelets on, put some light makeup on (if I remember to), put on my earrings, brush my teeth, and clip back my hair.

6:20-6:25am - I rush around to get my school bag, field hockey bag, and unplug my laptop and calculator (I always think I am going to forget them!)

6:30am - I am in my car, waiting to pick up my friend from her house, so we can get dropped off at the train station.

6:36am - My friend and I are on our train (it's called the N train), and if we miss this train we catch the next one which is at 6:44am. Then we take this train to Union Square in Manhattan and switch for the 4,5, or 6 train. The subway system seems tricky but once you get the hang of it, it's quite simple. My friend and I have been doing this for two years already.

7:15-7:35am - I arrive in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and sometimes I'll buy a coffee depending if I have time (every other day I have a class at 8 o'clock). My school is about five streets away from the train station so it's about a five minute walk, and I like to  be there early.

Before 8am - When I get to school, I'll go down to what we call "the pit" which is where sophomores and juniors eat lunch, and hang out in a more social setting. We don't have any hot breakfasts, but there is instant oatmeal, cereal, and fruit that we can eat. Also, a lot of people bring there coffees and breakfasts from Starbucks, or the local deli down to the pit.

8:00am - My school believes that the brain doesn't fully work until 10:30, so they try to give fun classes such as art, gym, film, and level one language classes in the morning. If I am not doing a sport, I'll have gym at this time. My schedule is one of the weird ones because I take art in the middle of the day, but I have English class at this time. My teacher is super nice and let's us eat bagels and drink coffee or tea in her class.

Since this post has no relevant pictures, here's a picture of me on the first day of school in 2008.

I want to say thank you to Gulianna for inviting me to join this collab. I really hope to work with these girls again, and next time I'll be on time with my post. Everyone should check them out! There links were tagged in the intro.

Question: What is your morning routine like?

  1. Nice post! I loved collabing with you and I love your school morning routine. I personally find it strange that you get a train to school but some people might say it's unusual to get a bus to school.

  2. Your school is so considerate! My Monday morning consists of Maths and English and then to top it off Tuesday is Ethics and double Physics. Tragic :(
