Photo Post: The Sky on 9/11

Hey everyone. Today is September 11, 2016 which is fifteen years after the terrorist attacks in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C. As someone who lives in New York, I witness a whole day each year that is a reminder of the lives lost on this day.

“Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.” —President Obama in a 2011 radio address

Today, I went for a walk with my dog and I just had to keep stopping because of how beautiful the sky was. Isn't it odd how the saddest days are always the days with the most beautiful sky?

There is something about pink skies that is so incredible.
"What separates us from animals, what separates us from the chaos, is our ability to mourn people we've never met" - David Levithan on 9/11

If you ever come to New York, I can tell you that you won't regret visiting the 9/11 Memorial and the Freedom Tower.

I'll hear from you guys in my next post.

  1. I loved this post, Christina! Believe it or not I have never been up to NW to see the 9/11 Memorial. That would be incredible to see in person. Yet very, very sad. X

  2. Nice post! Even someone not from America, it scary thinking about it as at the time I was only 2 years old. I have never been to the 9/11 memorial but I would love to one day.
