My Current Skincare Products *August 2017*

Hey everyone! I am back for another Sunday post! Today, I wanted to show you what skin products I am using for my face. Right now, my skin has been very clear because of the right amount of Vitamin D (the Sun!), a spot treatment, and some facemasks and scrubs. Ever since I was twelve, I have suffered from acne. I even went on Accutane pills for seven months to try to rid my acne, and although it did lessen my acne; it doesn't get rid of it forever. Currently, I am really happy with my skin care routine, so I hope you guys look into these products.

1. Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

My dermatologist told me to use a cleanser that wouldn't strip my skin of its natural oils because that tends to be a problem for most cleansers. I use Cetaphil to cleanse my skin every morning and most evenings (unless I am exfoliating that night or using a mask). All the cleanser does is clean your face without irritating it with scents and acne clearing formula. My pores clog so easily which leads to breakouts, so I always wash my face every day in the hopes I can lessen my acne. I have the 16oz bottle of Cetaphil, and I believe I bought it for about $10 from Walgreens (or another drug store).

2. St. Ive's Apricot Blemish Control Scrub
This scrub is absolutely amazing and I recommend it 100%. My dermatologist recommended this scrub for me to use twice a week, and now I live by it. You can buy it anywhere between $4-6, and at places like Target, Walmart, Rite Aid, etc. Every time I use it, my blemishes are visibly smaller in the morning. Also, it smells so nice and it's supposed to be all natural ingredients. The scrub exfoliates your skin without drying it out, but it also prevents blackheads.

3.  Clinique Pore Refining Solution Charcoal Mask

I bought this mask about a year ago for $27, and I definitely get my money's worth. Since I use two other face products, I use a mask every two weeks. I am more of a night owl, so I'll do my whole self care routine at 12am. Every two weeks, after a shower I'll put this mask on and then relax to some music and scroll instagram for 15 minutes or until I take the mask off. The charcoal mask is supposed to go deep into your pores to remove dirt, and my skin feels so much cleaner once I take it off. I use a warm washcloth to remove the mask instead of splashing water everywhere (which I normally do with other face products).

4. Prescription Spot Treatment
I've been going to the dermatologist for about five years now, but recently she prescribed a spot treatment that I am supposed to use in the morning. I normally use this when I have either a lot of acne or just very big zits (I know...it's gross). I highly recommend going to a dermatologist because they can prescribe treatments that'll work well for your skin.

I've been through so many face products such as Clearasil, Neutrogena, and Clean & Clear. Over the last five years, my skin has been through so much that it's a relief to be using products at the moment that work well with my skin.

Questions: What products do you use for your skin? What lotions do you recommend?

  1. Do people still use St. Ives apricot? I thought they got banned because of some side effect. After seeing it on your blog I might start using it again.
