Did I achieve all my 2017 resolutions?

Hey everyone! Back in January, I wrote a post called '2017 Resolutions' and right after I forgot all about them. I decided for a post today, I am going to look back on what I wanted my resolutions to be and if I achieved them.

1. To Become More Organized

Every year I say that I want to be more organized, and it happens to an extent. This year, I made a lot of lists on my phone to keep track of essays, homework, tests, SAT dates, and ACT dates. I guess I am not the type of person who really uses a planner, even though I should. I've been slightly better with time management, and my big goal for the year was not to go to bed on a school night after 11 o'clock, and I managed that on most days.

2. Remove toxic people from my life

I don't know who exactly I was referring to back in January, but definitely, this year has been a big year of realization for me. I have made a lot of new friends at school that before this year I hadn't really talked to. Unfortunately, I have also had friendships that became more distance this year. It's no one's fault in particular, but sometimes people change and you can't do anything really about it. I wouldn't say I cut off anyone entirely. Some of the friendships I've formed in 2017 have been super meaningful to me, and I know that I've made friends for life. This seems like I am rambling a bit, but also I've kept strong bonds with people I've known for years as well.

3. Be More Active

I did achieve this goal up until December. I took part in my school's musical, The Little Mermaid, which involved a lot of dancing. In the Summer, I joined a gym and took Zumba classes and had a personal trainer. There were weeks when I went four times to the gym. I also had field hockey from August to October, which involved lots of training and running. Unfortunately, I became injured very early in the season in my quad tendons, and couldn't play as much as I wanted too. In February, I am taking part in a show at my school which involves a lot of dance. I am hoping to get back on track with fitness in the New Year.

4. Be More Confident

I most definitely have become more confident in my beliefs and opinions. I speak up more and I am not really scared to talk about controversial topics. When it comes to personal confidence about my appearance, I am still working on it. Exercising definitely made me feel a lot better. I've become a lot more confident in the clothes I wear and finding styles that I like. I've also become more confident in my writing since I have been submitting articles to online magazines, and poetry to my school's art literary magazine. I am hoping for 2018, that I can start to be confident in my own skin. If that means working out more, or trying new hairstyles; we'll have to see what's to come.

5. Grow This Fashion Girl

Since this year was so stressful, I didn't post as much. I think I wrote more quality posts and found more link up parties, and tweet chats. I have not gained many followers because people tend to not want to become a follower on a blog, as much as they would for Youtube. I have gained more views (I am up to 75,000) and I am aiming to reach 100K in the next few months. I didn't achieve my resolution, but I have high hopes to gain a bigger Twitter and blog following. (Here is my twitter:

6. Write more fashion posts

This resolution I actually did achieve. I wanted to go back a bit and write more fashion posts because that is originally what I made this blog to do. I wrote 10 posts regarding fashion, and in 2018 I want to talk even more about that topic.

Here are the fashion posts I wrote in 2017:
OOTN: A Sweet 16
OOTD: Golden Gate Park
OOTD: 4th of July
OOTD: Last night in Long Beach Island
My Favorite Fall Trends: September 2017
Fall Shopping Haul *September 2017*
OOTN: Dinner at Nobu
Halloween 2017
OOTD: Thrift Shopping

7. Read 30 books

I did not achieve this goal because I was too sidetracked this year to read long novels. As mentioned before, I had a lot of work to do so reading took a back seat. You can check out my Goodreads account to keep updated on what books I am reading:
I wrote book reviews on almost all the books I read this year, and I hope to keep up that trend in the New Year,

I hope you like this post! I had completely forgotten about my resolutions, and after stumbling upon my post from January... I felt it would be fun to see if I actually achieved them. I hope for 2018 to do even better with my blog, and I am excited to see what the future has in store.

More posts coming this week to top off 2017! Don't forget to check back here :)
