Merry Christmas and Resolutions!

I know it has been awhile, I have been so caught up with schoolwork, homework, and many other things. Even though it is not a very good excuse, I can make it up to my readers. I have reached 1200 views! Don't forget to become a member on my blog.

Since it has been awhile, I am going to talk about resolutions. They are the hardest thing to make up and even harder to keep. They key to making resolutions are starting small and getting bigger. Resolutions are about making yourself better, not changing yourself completely. Some normal resolutions for the new year are:

-To spend more time with family
-To work harder in school/work
-To lose weight (I personally gained a lot of weight over this holiday season)
-To be nicer

Those are just some of the usual resolutions people say every year. Some of my resolutions for 2014 is:

-Work/Study harder in school
-Update this blog 1-2 times a week
-Be more happy
-Read more books
-Try something new

In 2014, I am going to be in High School, so the first half of the year is very important for me to do school work. As I get older, there are more things on my mind and I get distracted, so I am going to work harder on studying. I have been extremely lazy with updating my blog, but that will change. I want this blog to become a hit and have comments and so much more is planned. I want to work on being more happy and getting more comfortable with myself (baby steps). I also want to read more books instead of just going on instagram. I don't exactly know what the last resolution is, but we'll find out!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!  Comment below what your new year resolutions are!

My experience: Today Show for One Direction

Ok, so I am a huge fan of One Direction. If you don't know who they are, this is the most famous boy band at the moment made of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, and Liam Payne. I know many people have different opinions on One Direction but I personally love them.

So I had the honor of going to a One Direction concert ft. Five Seconds of Summer concert on June 29, 2013 at Jones Beach Theatre. But on August 23, 2013 my best friend and I saw One Direction again but at the TODAY show. We went to Rockefeller Center at 3 in the morning. We were literally living off of three hours of sleep. So we waited for about an hour with 8,000 people. Around 4:30 we got into the outer streets of Rockefeller. We waited…and waited…and waited. Around 7:00 One direction came out and did a sped up version of What Makes You Beautiful and Kiss You. Sadly, I could not see them and their microphones weren't working very well.

Around 7:30 my friend got claustrophobic and had to stand outside of the barricades. After a very rude mother yelled at us saying, "If you guys leave this barrier you will be kicked out." My friend and I just ignored her because she was very rude and thought she knew everything. My friend and I did not get kicked but in fact we made it to a point where we could see One Direction clearly and were only 150 people away from them. There were 18,000 people in and around Rockefeller Center that day. To get as close as we did, my friend and I had to sneak past guards and hop a few barriers. It was hard and people kept coming up to us and asking how many hours we have been there. We even met people who were camping out there for 6 days!

I do not regret staying there since three in the morning. My friends and I are actually planning for next time One Direction comes and we might camp out again. It is honestly a lot of fun but you get pushed a lot, and you have to push people a lot to get through. If you are willing to stay outside for hours then it is really worth it.

Later That Day

Later on my friend, my mother, and I went to Madame Tussauds in Times Square. My friend and I wanted to see the One Direction was figures because basically that day was all about them. My mother enjoyed seeing wax figures of her favorite celebrities. That was the second time that summer I went to Madame Tussauds so I had photos will a lot of the figures already. If you ever in New York, you should really go to the Wax Museum.

Question of the Week: What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

Tips for Sixth and Seventh Grade

hey! So hopefully this helps people who are entering sixth and seventh grade. Well, I'm in eighth grade and I will share some things I have learned from sixth and seventh grade.

1. Stay Calm

I was so nervous on the first day of sixth grade. It was my first time in a co-ed school. Yes, I went to an all-girls private catholic school until fifth grade. Also I went from a grade of 17 kids to a grade of 50+ kids. I knew about 2 people that were in my grade and later on in the year they ditched me. But that's a different story. I get anxiety over the smallest things or when I am talking to teachers. I didn't know why I got so nervous. In seventh grade it was bad because some people use to make fun of me because I would get so nervous I would stutter (bullies). But towards the end of the year I started to take a deep breath and it really does make a difference.

2. Stay away from Drama

I know parents and teacher say to students, "stay away from drama," but I am being serious. Middle School is the most dramatic time. I am still in middle school but I have realized that. I have my group of friends and then there are other people I am friendly with. Stay away from people who are craving attention. Those are the people who make rumors about themselves and other people.  In other words, those are the people that everyone talks about. Well in seventh grade there were so many rumors about these two people and at first I was like, "glad that isn't me." But as the year went on, everyone was making a huge deal and then I realized, "who cares that they are dating?" The two people started to look miserable and I honestly felt bad. I feel like I am rambling on but the point is, IF SOMEONE IS CAUSING DRAMA, STAY AWAY.

3. Be Careful what you put on the internet

If you notice on my instagram, I don't have a lot of photos. One reason, I didn't like what I put on instagram and I saw so many flaws. But be careful at what you post because what is funny to one person might be offensive to someone else. People in my grade would be like, "Christina, your not even looking at the camera." or some people would rudely say, "how do you have so many followers?" I am not trying to be mean but I honestly don't know how I have 700+ followers. Some people put photos (I am going to call them R-rated photos) and they are showing things you shouldn't be showing at 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 years old. Those things give people the bad impression of you and they never go away.
Another thing I hate on the internet is this website called ask.fm. I know this sounds rude, but if you have an account you are basically giving yourself to people who hate you. Even if people do hate you, I am sure my readers are pretty amazing people since you read my posts but there are people jealous of your pretty faces. Ask.fm is basically inviting bullies. Trust me, I have witnessed it first hand. The fact that people are being anonymous and giving you hate is just proving how much of a coward they are. Hate is bad but remember I love you.

4. Do all your homework

I know there are times when you can't finish all your homework because of personal reasons. But if you are sitting on the couch and your watching television and it's 5 in the afternoon and you haven't started homework, do yourself a favor and start homework. It will save you some stress. There were times in sixth grade I stayed up until 2am doing homework. You want to be that student that teachers know is an excellent student and won't get mad at you if you forget once.

5.  Be Nice to EVERYONE

Even if there is that one boy or girl that you can't stand to look at, be nice to them. I am not saying you have to be best friends but just be nice. I am not lying because there are some people that were so mean to me but being nice kills the bullies. They want to see you be upset because it makes them feel better about themselves. They are jealous because YOU are being nice to everyone and they can't be.
Also being nice to people can get your more friends or one smile can make someone's day. I know people that think they aren't good enough to have friends. These people are the ones that need a friend and one smile, one hello, one conversation, a "hey want to work together" can really make their day.

"It costs nothing to be nice." - Harry Styles

6. Always be prepared for school

My school uses iPads for our notebooks but I personally like using notebooks to write in and a kindle to read on. But always have a pen and bring your books to school. I have annoyed people by asking them for a pen, pencil, or  paper. So being prepared and organized honestly helps a lot.

7. Have fun with friends

Don't always be studying, doing homework, or reading my blog (haha jk) but go out with friends. Go to starbucks, or if you don't have money go to the park. My friends and I like to do both. If you go to starbucks I strongly suggest the cotton-candy frappe (secret menu!), mocha cookie crumble frappe, refreshers, or passion fruit ice tea. In the winter my best friends and I have sleepovers in my basement and watch youtube videos and movies.

8. Always look nice

Well I have to wear a uniform but if you don't I suggest skirts, jeans, crop tops, and pretty shirts. Youtubers like macbarbie07 (Bethany Mota), madisenrosebeauty1 (Maddi Bragg), and makeupbymandy24 (Amanda Steele) have some amazing fashion taste for back to school. I wear a uniform and to me its okay. I hate the gym uniform because who wants to wear unisex sweatpants? Ew. My hair gets puffy since its curly but keep your hair looking fresh and nice. Keep your uniform nice and don't roll it up. Keep it classy never trashy.

9. Take Care of Acne

I have a post I wrote when I was in seventh grade about what makeup I wore. Since I am in catholic school, I am supposedly not suppose to wear makeup. But I do anyway because I make it look natural. I had such bad acne in sixth grade! My forehead was terrible and it was really gross and they would pop and bleed. How attractive is that? I strongly suggest going to a dermatologist, they know what to give your skin. In seventh grade my skin cleared up a lot. Of course I get breakouts sometimes but its mild compared to sixth grade. In seventh grade, I noticed a lot of kids were getting really bad acne and it was noticeable. That's kind of an ego booster.

In sixth grade since I had bad acne I tried using foundation which kind of sparked my interest in makeup. But I did it terribly then and people would point out of the fact that I was wearing makeup.  If I had to go back to sixth grade I would definitely do my makeup different to cover it.
If you are allowed to wear makeup and want to cover up acne or have a neutral look, I suggest buying:

For covering acne:

       Concealer (liquid or stick)
Foundation (covergirl i love so much)
       Blender or makeup brushes

To have a neutral look:
(use the covering acne items too)

Urban Decay pallette (or any neutral colored pallette)
Baby lips (you can use it for lips and and cheek tint)
      eyelash curler
      clear or black mascara

10. Be Yourself

If anyone ever makes fun of you for being yourself, never let them get to you. I'm the girl during free period that listens to music and reads books and fanfiction. I am the girl who has a blog that no one from my school knows about because this is my place. This is your place. Who are you? You are You. I am me.

If no one ever says this to you, I love you.

xoxo,
        Christina

Summer Fashions 2013

Even though there is only one month left of Summer, I will talk about the styles from Summer 2013. Some clothes brands I saw were Forever 21, Brandy Melville, TopShop, Pacsun, and H &M. All 5 of those brands have clothes that are expensive or reasonable.

Skirts are really popular especially high waisted. High waisted anything is popular at the moment. I saw a lot of people wearing skirts like this. Also bralets are popular. The one in the photo has a back like cut fabric but not all of them are like that. You can look at Ariana Grande, and Selena Gomez for inspiration.

High waisted shorts are a bit more expensive then regular shorts. I honestly don't know why. I have two pairs from a boutique which were 32.00 dollars. Usually I wouldn't spend that much money on shorts but I got them with the money I got for my birthday. But at least one pair is good enough to have and you can pair it with bandeaus, bralets, t-shirts, or three quarter sleeves.

Graphic Muscle t-shirts were one of my favorite trends of the summer. I have a muscle t-shirt that says, "geek chic". People were pronouncing chic as chick and were making fun of it. *flips hair* They don't understand fashion. But muscle t-shirts are worn with bandeaus and I really liked the trend.

Band t-shirts are pretty popular. I noticed that people wear nirvana, the ramones, and even modern day bands like 5SOS, and one direction t-shirts. I like the look of more older bands because I personally like rock music and the t-shirts are pretty cool.

Maxi dresses also known as high-low dresses. These dresses are bit more formal but I like the way it looks. They are good for events or if you want to go out at night.

This is a typical outfit I've seen recently. The American flag shorts are popular and you can
buy them at forever 21. The brand name shirts like Coca-Cola shirt is popular and I have seen many people wearing clothes like that.

Open back dresses and heart back dresses from Brandy Melville and other stores have been very popular too. I, myself don't have the type of dress but my friends do and I have seen YouTube gurus wearing these dresses (madisenrosebeauty1 and makeupbymandy24) and they look gorgeous in them.

Overalls are back in style. It's not like it was in the early 2000's which I barely remember. But crop tops and and long sleeve shirts with overalls or overall dresses are perfect. I love them so much and I hope it doesn't go out of style.

BB Cream Vs Foundation

Hi everyone! So recently I have tested out BB cream. I tried Maybelline and Covergirl BB Cream. I personally did not like either one.

I saw so many youtube videos on BB Cream and everyone was saying it was amazing, and it works really well. Maybe I used it wrong but it made my skin really shiny. It looked really bad on me. At first, I liked it and then like an hour after it started to fade and my skin looked oily. About 50% of time I wear concealer and foundation or no makeup at all and my face looks matte. I think none of the BB Creams did that for me.

At the moment, Im using covergirl Stay Fabulous Foundation. In one of my other posts I talked about it. I highly recommend it because its easy to use and keeps your face matte. If BB Cream works for you, comment below or email me (thisfashiongirl1@gmail.com) about how you use it because maybe I did something wrong.

until next time,

        xoxo

Makeup Haul

Hi loves! So I have bought a bunch of makeup over the last few days. I'm going to do a haul and first impressions. All products I bought with my own money. I went to Sephora, and Duane Reade.

***IGNORE MY AWKWARD FACES IN THE BACKGROUND***

The first thing I bought was Maybelline New York the Rocket Volum' Express (Yes, I didn't mean volume). It comes in an indigo tube with pink lettering and the wand has pink bristles.

First impression:
The mascara is a bit watery when you dip the wand in and it clumps the eye lashes. In my pictures I am wearing this mascara. I personally like the eyelashes a bit clumped but others don't. I also chose not to curl my eyelashes before I put it on since I curled them in the morning.

So above is what the tube looks like.
The wand looks like this.

The second thing I bought, is yet another mascara. This is the Covergirl Clump Crusher by lashblast. The mascara is water resistant, a fancy way of saying waterproof (lol!).  I curl my lashes before I use it, even though I don't think its necessary for everyone. If you have naturally curled eyelashes then you obviously don't need to curl your lashes. The mascara has lasted me the whole day and I can recommend it by itself or ontop of another mascara.

First impressions:
Nothing bad about it. I personally have liked it since I first put it on.

The next product I got was the Covergirl outlast stay fabulous foundation and SPF 20.  I like the idea that it is a pump instead of pouring the foundation onto the sponge. It comes out easy and I put four pumps onto a sponge to blend it in.

First impression:
I really liked this foundation. Some foundations clog pours but this one didn't. It also stayed the whole day even though I worked out for 45 minutes. Yes, yes I know you aren't suppose to workout with makeup on but I didn't have any touch up with me. But overall, I really liked the foundation and when I finish it I would definitely re-purchase it.

This is one of my favorite purchases! This is the Naked 2 eyeshadow palette by urban decay. The palette costs $50 which is a bit pricey. I think this is a very good investment. Like everything in this post, I bought this eyeshadow palette with my own money. The colors in this palette or slightly more shimmery but they are lighter then the original Naked palette. I do not have the original naked palette. But if you are looking for a good investment in eyeshadow I suggest you look at them.

The white powder in the picture below is loose setting powder (sephora brand). The brown powder is foundation. I heard a rumor that there was a chemical in the MAC setting powder that is known to cause cancer. But the Sephora setting powder doesn't have that chemical. This was also my first time using powder foundation. I used my new powder brush and I personally really liked it. Again, this brand is kind of pricey but if you want to invest in foundation, I suggest it.

This is the urban decay primer potion. It doesn't do wonders like you won't see a major change in your eyeshadows. If you are using brighter colors like blues, yellows, and oranges then you can see that it stays on longer. If you are using neutral colors, I didn't notice any difference. I heard that the Maybelline color tattoo is good but I have not tried that yet.

I was using Almay black eyeliner for sometime. I did not like it. That will be a different post. But it would smudge and not stay on my water and tight lines on my eyes. I am now using the Rimmel Scandaleyes. It stays on longer and it goes on really easier. I have not figured out how to sharpen it yet though. But overall, I really like this eyeliner.

Before two days ago, I didn't have any makeup brushes. I would either use my fingers, sponge tips, or the brush they came with. I think a good investment is brushes. I got travel brushes for $32. They are smaller and come with an eyeliner, smudge, powder, crease, and lid brush. This is good for doing multi colored eyeshadows.

The look and quad I used is from one of the Maybelline quads. If you can notice, one eye is lighter then the other with the eyeshadow. That was on purpose because I was trying a day look vs a night look with that quad. If you want, I can post about it. I really enjoyed playing around with it.

Seventh Grade Skincare Routine

I wrote this post awhile ago. But this is the skin care routine I used throughout seventh grade.

Well the topic I am going to post about is skin care. I am just going to out right say it. No one likes acne. Well if you like zits, blackheads, and whiteheads you can stop reading now. So last year someone said to me, "why do you post about not having acne? Because you kinda do". That kind of stung a bit so I decided to get clearer skin. Well I didn't think clearasil worked. But you never know it could work with you. So I suggest before you go out buy a brand you see on television a.k.a proactive, clean and clear, and x-out; you should go to a dermatologist. They have brands that that they make, and they could get black heads, dark spots, white heads, and acne with a few visits.

My dermatologist (if you don't know, its a fancy word for skin doctor) gave me a facial cleanser to use in the morning and at night to get rid of acne. It is from a brand called epiderme clinical skin care. I had really bad acne so I found that this cleanser helped a lot. It is the purifying cleanser. You can but the cleanser and other treatments from <epidermeskincare.com>. Well I get a breakout I would use the epiderme exfoliating treatment pads. You wipe them wherever you have breakout and it stings at first but after a few minutes it starts to work.  Then at night I would use the acne medication called epiduo. I would use at night. A side effect to using acne medication is that it dries out your skin. So you cannot forget to moisturize! Bath & Bodyworks have good lotions and creams and have sales a lot. You can also order online! Or if you don't want a smelling lotions you can go to a drugstore or pharmacy and buy CeraVe or Cetaphil. They are lotions that work very well.

Well next topic is makeup. I personally like makeup brands such as neutrogena, almay, and sephora for my skin. Well I like to use the neutrogena skin clearing oil free makeup foundation. I wear it to school sometimes when i have a breakout or I will wear it when I go out with some friends. I like to put moisturizer on before I put it on because it helps it last longer. I also wear almay clear complexion concealer around my eyes. If you are shopping for foundation or concealer, I cannot stress this enough, get a color that matches your skin color! If you get a color that doesn't match your skin tone then it will look really bad. You want makeup to hide the features you don't like and enhance your good features. Not to show everyone that you wear makeup. I don't wear blush that often. If you want to add color to your cheeks, just pinch them a few times.

Okay the next topic is wiping off makeup. If you keep your makeup when you go to sleep then the makeup will go onto your pillow and you might get a breakout. Always wipe off your makeup at night. Wash your face every night and day. I suggest using Garnier The Soothing  Remover Cleansing Towelettes. They are about 6-8 dollars depending on which type you get. Or you can go to Costco and buy 4 of the Kirkland Brand for about 10 dollars. Then I suggest you use a toner to get the dirt and makeup that did not come off when you used the makeup wipes didn't get off. I use the Clean& Clear deep cleaning toner. It's about 6 dollars which is cheap against some other toners. Just put some toner onto a cotton ball and clean your face with it. Then wash your face.

Lastly, always moisturize and use sun screen. Moisturizing will keep your skin smooth, and healthy and not dried out. Also sunscreen protects against the sun. People think it's a waste because they never get burned, like me. But you might not seen the effects now, but in like 30 to 40 years you can have skin cancer or a disease where you might never be able to go into the sun again. So I suggest you should put sun tan lotion if you are going to the beach and the pool.

So I hoped this post helped you! Write comments down below. Kisses!

Healthy Breakfast On the Go

Sorry I haven't started updating a lot. Been so busy and all. I wanted to talk about breakfast foods. If you are like me, you can't eat anything in the morning. I don't like eating in the early morning. I like slim fast shakes in the morning. They keep you full and I find it helpful because it keeps me full until lunch. Sometimes I have lunch at 9:10 in the morning so therefore I would eat a granola bar. But when I have later lunches I will drink this for breakfast.

The slim-fast shakes are 200 calories depending on what type of milk you use. I use skim milk because that's what my parents use and I'm accustomed to the taste. To prepare, put milk into a shaker, you can buy them at any place that sells cooking supplies because they aren't very special. Then you put the serving size of powder into the milk. Shake until its thick and then drink.

Another food that is good for mornings are granola bars. Natural Valley Granola Bars are really good and come in different favors. Two bars come in a pack. One bar is 80 calories, and two bars are 160 calories. They are for on the go or just a snack because they are so low in calories. Special K Red Berries Cereal Bars are really yummy and 90 calories. If you any healthy breakfast ideas; email me at thisfashiongirl1@gmail.com

Review on Essie Nail Polish

*REVIEW*

So I am going to do a review on the nail polish color called, Go Giza.

I saw this color recommended by Bethany Mota (macbarbie07). I really liked the color, but I did not know where to buy it. My friend and I were at Duane Reade because we were on a fashion spree. Well I have an obsession with makeup, and nail polish. So at Duane Reade they had many Essie nail products.
Essie nail polish sells for eight dollars. I wore this nail polish to an event at my school. The color comes on thick but as always put a clear coat on top of it. The color chips after 3 to 5 days. It looks slightly purple, but on the website it says that the color is considered a pink. The color is light so I wear it to school because it is allowed in my dress code.

You should go out to buy it. More to come soon!
